W31 wire is doped tungsten wire, apparently it has excellent non sagging properties therefore it is excellent for many uses including halogen filaments as its very strong and vibration resistant even when glowing hot.
It has many uses as it is very strong and very hard to see at distance as its like a strand of hair but very strong.
