The Takayama Festival is held every year in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. The annual festival of Hie Shrine "Spring Sanno Festival" on April 14th and 15th, and the annual festival of Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine "Autumn Hachiman Festival" on October 9th and 10th. It is a generic term for “matsuri”.

Along with the Gion Festival in Kyoto City and the Chichibu Night Festival in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, it is counted as one of Japan's three major float festivals and one of Japan's three most beautiful festivals.

It is designated as an important tangible folk cultural property and an important intangible folk cultural property.
