1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition Expo Omaha Nebraska NE Set of 10 Not Reprints 1992 Postcards

The Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition was held at Omaha, Nebraska NE from June 1 through October 31 in 1898.  It was the subject of the first picture postcards of a Nebraska place or event.  A set of 10 official postcards was printed on US Government one cent postcards by the Chicago Colortype Co. and featured artist's conceptions in pastel colors of 10 of the exposition buildings.  This is a set of 10 postcards published in 1992 by the Trans-Mississippi Exposition Historical Association.  They feature photographic versions of the same buildings shown on the 1898 official postcards and provide an interesting comparison between the artist's conceptions and reality.  These were printed by Klopp Printing Company, a pioneer printer, and one of the printers for the exposition in 1898.  1500 sets were printed and will not be reprinted.  Always see pictures.

The Trans-Mississippi International Exposition was held in Omaha, Nebraska from June 1 to November 1, 1898.  The following summer in 1899 the Greater America Exposition was held using the same grounds.
