This is an original press photo. Ted Griffin of the Marine Aquarium at Pier 56 "walked" a ten-foot, 550-pound shark caught in Elliot Bay off Pier 56 yesterday just in time to join other aquarium performers for Waterfront Day today. Griffin kept the six-gill shark moving until its strength returned after being immobilized in its capture. Sharks cannot draw water through their gills unless they are moving.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 6-7-1964.
