Offered is a fine, small, vintage Yupik Hooper Bay Knob Top Coil Basket. It measures 5 1/2" tall by about 3 1/4" wide at widest point.
This basket came from one Pennsylvania collector's personal collection of Alaskan Native items that we purchased at auction. I would guess this dates to anytime in the second half of 20th Century, most likely in the 3rd quarter, based on the age of the collector and most of the items in the collection.
Very good vintage condition. Some fading. A few, tiny discolored spots. The knob is solidly attached but leans a bit to one side, as made. Please see pictures.
