This is a super rare classic all original 1:25th scale 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner convertible 3-in-1 automobile kit #K 111 made by AMT. This scarce 63 year old kit was sold in hobby shops, department stores, 5 & 10 stores, and toy stores for 1 year only. From the fall of 1960 through the summer of 1961. This vintage highly detailed kit has never been reissued by AMT. Parts are included enabling the buyer to build it one of three ways: stock, custom, or competition.
This car kit is in fantastic never started condition. The parts that make up the kit are mill styrene white, clear and red tinted transparent, chrome plated styrene, vinyl tires, 2 metal axles, and two (still soft) rubber band hood clips. Remarkably, all but three small parts plus the hood still remain on their factory trees. Also included are detailed building instructions and unused decals. Nobody ever painted, started building, or even looked through the parts in this kit since it was made roughly 63 years ago. There is no damage to any part, including the fragile windshield frame on the body (see photos). The 8.25" x 3.5" x 2.5" cardboard box is complete and intact, with strong edges and corners. It has numerous tiny scuffs and small tears in it along with two 1.5 inch long slits in one of the short flaps. Box colors are still bright and shiny.
