RARE 1940S ASTATIC W-90 "BROWN BULL" MICROPHONE With ORIGINAL STAND

Original Paint. Original Element. Gritty and awesome. Best Mic I have.

This is quite simply the best blues harp microphone I’ve ever played. It’s so strong, and so fun to play, I really don’t want to give it up. The tone from all the way down low, to all the way up top is distinctive, musical, gritty, and the thing just absolutely howls. It’s all from the working, original crystal element.

This microphone is all 1940’s original, from it’s brown paint (with some nicks and scratches), it’s tin tag, the microphone attached (6′), and most importantly, the model 106 crystal element, the precursor to the magnificent MC-151. These elements are rarely found in working order, never mind this kind of wonderful howling tone. Remember, these elements are fragile, so if you pick this one up make sure to keep it out of harm’s way.

Astatic Model W90

(Obviously this is the W-90 MODEL Review as it clearly states as much in title.)

Note: Items to refurb

1. Replace microphone cloth (easy)

2. Would need to be wired from back of mic to use. Like this, it is of course untested.
