Original WWII censored A.P.O. 8 cover, posted overseas in 1944 by an American soldier in the 8th Infantry Division who was killed in action in the July 1944 battle for Saint-Lo in Normandy, France.


*** This soldier was Private First Class William N. McCullough, Company B, 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. Pfc. McCullough was Killed in Action in Normandy on July 19th, 1944.   


The 8th Division arrived in Normandy in late June 1944, a few weeks after D-Day. This soldier was killed in Normandy very shortly after landing in France.
