Offering today an early E.N. Welch mechanical mantle clock. This clock has a nice loud tick & is keeping time over the past 48 hours. It “Gongs” on the hour. The gong needs adjustment to coincide with the hour. The original key comes with the clock & it winds easily. It is an 8 day clock mechanism! The case is a beautiful dark wood(see pics for flaws). The front door is glass with a colorful pattern at the bottom. The door has a a metal turn latch to ensure closure. The face is a white tin with floral pattern. The face shows wear at the screw attachments. The original Welch document is affixed to back inner wall of the clock. The pendulum is brass. The back of the clock is stamped with non-legible info from the manufacturer. The clock was made in Forestville, Conn. USA. It is recommended to have the clock serviced to ensure all functions are working appropriately(If untouched it works great, but if moved etc it tends to stop ticking). Update: After 48 hours of working no -stop, the clock now is stopping for no reason that I know of. I move the pendulum & it starts back up! IDK? This clock was purchased at an estate sale of a collector! TY!
