Branches books are for readers in kindergarten through third grade, and are aimed at children ages 5-8. They are a line of early chapter books from Scholastic that are designed for readers who are ready to move beyond picture books but aren't quite ready for a novel with lots of text. The books have easy-to-read text, simple plot lines, and illustrations that help with reading comprehension. They also have high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and cliff-hanger chapter endings.
