very fine and rare

British sterling silver
pair of Regency master salt bowls.
Crafted as re-creations of the famed
Warwick vase.
Briefly, this was an ancient Roman marble vase, with Bacchi decoration, discovered in 1771,
the inspiration for Georgian silversmiths to re-creation in sterling.
One such vase from the hand of Paul Storr.

Never monogrammed.
This British sterling Warwick vase master salts 5 1/2 inches across handles
set weighs 23 standard ounces.
In very fine condition.
Appear little used.
Rich sterling patina.
Retains original detail.
Hallmarked as shown, the marks are badly rubbed
and are mostly obscured.
We purchased these from a large, reputable auction house as c1820 British sterling, maker is unknown.
