New York City Brooklyn Bond Street, De Kalb Avenue sign

Up for sale today is this Brooklyn Bond Street sign, which faces De Kalb Avenue. The sign is made to the 1910s specification used by the city to designate this famous street in the heart of Manhattan. This is the last style of porcelain sign before retroreflective signage, unfortunately not in the distinct shape any longer, were introduced in 1950s. Take this opportunity to show your love for New York and own a piece of roadside history all in one!

I can of course make any street, any block number, found anywhere in the Big Apple, and everywhere else too!

An original of these is very rare to find scrapped; they have long since been retired from service. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing legal trouble or breaking the bank.

The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 5 lb. 4 oz. and is 22 by 12 inches. This sign is double-sided. The double-sided version features a complementary legend on each side: one side with the mounting holes on the left, the other side with the mounting holes on the right, so that they point in the same direction on the physical sign. If you would like a different size or route number, please do not hesitate to inquire.

This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective remake sign — perfect for indoor or outdoor display, and very much reminiscent of the classic porcelain appearance of the original signs. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.

Please note: The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.
