"Convoy Is To Scatter" by Captain Jack Broome, hard back book and dust cover  published  1972, both book and cover in good condition, some fading on spine of dust cover.

The story of actual signals received or exchanged by Convoy PQ17 from June 27th to July 4th are reproduced verbatim. These reflect the story of the convoy of 35 Allied merchant ships bound for Russia, with a close score of six destroyers and the Royal Naval vessels.

Despite repeated attacks by U-boats and the Luftwaffe, the convoy made steady progress.  But on 4th July the Admiralty, in the mistaken belief that the Tirpitz and other German war ships were about to attack, ordered the convoy to scatter, with disastrous results.
