This Atlas Editions die-cast model of a 1/72nd scale Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Me 262B night fighter is in excellent condition.

Part of Atlas Editions’ Battle For The Night Skies series, it comes in its original plastic packaging (partly removed for the photographs).

The model depicts the night fighter version of the world’s first operational jet fighter, the Messerchmitt Me 262.

The Me 262B was developed as a dedicated nachtjager (night fighter). It had a stretched fuselage with increased fuel capacity and was armed with two upward-facing MK 108 cannons in a Schrage Musik configuration behind the cockpit, able to fire on Allied bombers flying overhead. Early models were fitted with a Neptun radar, with ‘antler’ antennas mounted on the nose.

The model comes with its own black display stand to show the aircraft ‘in flight’. There are no separate landing wheels supplied with the model.

It is made of die-cast metal with plastic accessories.
