This is a rare antique custom made Edwardian beaded purse with a sterling frame. One side was made with the Converse family crest surrounded by flowers, the other side is floral with the date 1907 on the upper left near the frame. The frame is hallmarked sterling, and it hinges and snaps shut perfectly. This purse is in excellent condition with no damage to the beads, the fringe is all intact, and the beads by the frame hinge are perfect with no losses. The original pink silk interior has deteriorated on one side where it connects to the frame, but there is the original mirror and small silk purse inside. The purse measures 9 1/2" long including the frame clasp and fringe, and about 6" across the frame. There is the long sterling chain, and with the chain, it measures 17 1/4" long to the bottom of the fringe. I have never seen a purse with a custom made family crest before. This is a gorgeous purse. You will be very pleased.
