A stunning lot of ten tiny (approximately 1/4") guilloche buttons popularized by Queen Victoria, depicting the flowers of the mussy tussy craze of that era - each flower was to meant to convey a certain secret meaning. Roses, of course, meant love. There are inscrutable raised marks on the back - overlapping AA and PP, and other marks which cannot be read, so tiny is their size.

Strung precariously on the original silk thread, these show genuine centuries of patina but no signs of use. Please have nice feed back if you'd like to bid please ask me all your questions before bidding and I will be happy to answer. I am about to list some more outrageously wonderful old, old buttons, so please keep an eye on my other auctions.
