San Francisco Vicente Street sign
Up for sale today is this Vicente Street, 1400 block sign. The sign is made to the 1965 specification used by the city of San Francisco and still seen along its streets to the present day. This is the last style of all-capitals signage, before they went to mixed case in 2009. This street is presumably named after one of the members of Juan Bautista de Anza's 1775-1776 expedition to San Francisco who shared the name Vicente.I can, of course, make this sign with any street or destination of your choice. This sign is double-sided. Each side features a complementary legend: one side with the arrow pointing left, the other side with the arrow pointing right, so that they point in the same direction on the physical sign. The sign is 36 by 12 inches, and weighs about 11 lb. 0 oz.. This is a high quality, heavy steel remake. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
