Up for auction is this fantastic grouping from well listed New York Modernist artist/sculptor Margot Kempe (1898-1981).  The artist, born in Germany, live in New York City (USA) and was (and still is) highly regarded among collectors of mid 20th century Modernist art.  Included in the grouping is:
1.  A seven piece terracotta Nativity scene grouping, all pieces signed by Kempe, including the baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and 3 lambs.  There are a couple of chips on the bottom of the Mary figurine and a small chip on one of the lamb ears.
2.  3 green painted terracotta lambs...not signed but obviously by Kempe as it is the same style and look as the other lambs in the Nativity scene.
3.  A clay Nativity scene plaque with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus under the Christmas Star.  The 5 7/8 inch X 4 1/2 inch plaque is partially painted with copper highlights.  This is signed on the reverse by Kempe.
4.  A 1976 bronze "AWARD OF MERIT" medal, in fitted case, awarded and inscribed to Kempe from the 26th annual Knickerbocker Artists (New York) conference.  Measures about 2 7/8 inches in diameter.  Nice condition.
5.  Her original hammer, used in her sculpting.
6.  The pieces of ephemera relating to Kempe, mainly pamphlets on famous female artists.
This grouping was probably from her personal collection as it contains personal items, but we can not be sure.  All in all, a great grouping offered with NO RESERVE!!
