Vintage Plastic & Tin Wind-Up Jerry’s Car (Tom & Jerry),
Modern Toys, Japan 70’s.
A nice hard to find vintage plastic and tinplate clockwork
Jerry’s Car from the popular Tom & Jerry cartoon series,
with Jerry sat at the wheel of a red plastic-bodied Hot
Rod with chrome coloured windscreen and lights,
black tin base and coloured lithographed interior
surrounding Jerry and 2 large rear and 2 small
front plastic wheels, made by the Modern Toys
Co. in Japan probably in the 1970’s.
Measures 6 inches long by 4 wide and 4.75 inches
tall and is in excellent cosmetic condition with minor
playwear, just a crack to one of the large rear wheels.
The clockwork motor winds ok using the built-in key
and the car moves forward at speed while rearing
up on its rear wheels and making a loud clicking
sound. I'm not sure if the car should do any more
than this or is only partially working. The toy is
marked on the rear of the tinplate interior with
“Trade Mark Modern Toys”, the “M-T” mark.
“Copyright M.G.M. Inc.” and “Made in Japan”.
It also has a silver paper label on the rear with
an image of Tom and “Copyright Metro
Goldwyn Mayer Inc.”.
A nice vintage plastic wind-up cartoon toy that seems
to work ok (partially?), or just great for display.

Every item I send will be carefully packed and proof of postage will be kept. I will dispatch your goods, whenever possible, within 1 working day of your payment being received and whenever possible, I will always combine postage to save you money.
