Vintage Pelham Puppets Rotundan from Blue Peter
(Bleep & Booster) String Puppet, VGiB
A nice hard to find vintage string puppet of a Rotundan
Alien character from the Bleep & Booster comic-strip shown
on the popular “Blue Peter” children’s television programme
in the 1960’s, made by the renowned Pelham Puppet
Company, England, from the mid-1960's.
Rotundan has a pale blue head with 3 eyes and 2 dark
blue antenna, a short dark blue body, with red arms and
legs and stands around 6.5 inches tall. It is in very good
condition with one antenna replaced and some small
paint chips, mainly to his feet. It includes the 3 strings
and simple wooden bar control, and comes with
a good original box with creases and marks
to the lid, marked “Rotundan” on one end,
and a reproduction instruction leaflet.
A rare puppet which is very hard to find in any
condition, especially almost complete and boxed.
