Made Only from 1963-1965
Original MAT: Dated 1963 and Marked Fisher Price / Made in USA. This mat does have wear / stains and one small U shaped Cut in the Center. Most of the staining is kind of a brownish orange color and on the back side. There some on the white edging on the front also. There are a few cuts and tears along the edges and in the white trim. Some of the coloring is faded / worn and shows white underneath. The corners are curled / folded / bent. There are scratches, rubs, etc. The mat has been folded and has deep creases. This set was played with so don't expect perfection.
The Merry Go Round is in pretty nice shape. When you turn the red wooden knob on the top, it turns and does have a clear chime sound. The graphics are still nice on the center section. The plastic top is pretty nice with blue painted decorations (light wear). The poles are all present. There are four holes made for the passengers. The round bottom panel has paper covering with colored shapes. The paper and wooden portions do have wear / dirty spots. The bottom section is clearly marked Fisher Price Toys.
The Whirring Chair Ride holds four
passengers in little brightly colored plastic chairs. The chairs spin
out when you twist the blue knob on the top of the ride. The paper covering the top and bottom does have wear and dirty spots. There are yellow, green, blue and red (more dark coral colored) chairs attached to metal poles. The bottom has the logo of Fisher Price Chair Ride. The chair ride has dirty spots / dark dots on top and bottom that need cleaning.
The Amusement Park Swing has the Wooden Base with Two Blue Poles. At the top of the poles is the yellow bar that holds the blue chair. The swing will make a full rotation circle. There is some wear on the base. The base is also marked Fisher Price Amusement Park.
Take
Apart Train : I believe it's supposed to have four pieces but there are only three here. Train Engine has a yellow cab that tilts back so can put a figure inside.
It's base is red and white with wheels (white hubcaps). There are two other pieces .. both made of wood. One is red with yellow hubcaps and the other is yellow with white hubcaps. Each piece has the loop for connecting together. Wheels are marked Fisher Price Toys / Made in USA. Some of the wheels have little chips / melt marks.
There are TWO Boats. One is Green and White and the other is Red and White. Both are marked Fisher Price Toys. They do have some wear and dirty spots.
There are NO CARS or the BRIDGE.
I believe the set originally came with 6 kids and one dog. There are only 2 Straight Sided Wooden People. Both have wear, scratches, missing paint and some chips missing out of the wood. One is red and one looks more burgundy. They are NOT in good shape (especially the more burgundy one .. see pics). The black dog
is the Early Version of the all-familiar Lucky dog. He is supposed to have yellow droopy ears but only has partial ears (see pics). Dog has some white paint for eyes and nose but most is gone. He is a straight sided wooden piece. He looks to have chew or bite marks in the wood also. I believe these are the only original ones to the set. There are five other pieces being included. There are four wooden ones and one final one with wooden body and plastic head. There is a Red and Yellow Cowboy, Blue and Yellow Woman and Two Green Ones with Red Caps (one is missing the piece that sticks out in the back). The final one is orange wooden body with pink plastic head and red painted hair.
There are two final pieces .. brown and green chairs. Not sure that they go the set but will be included.
All Pieces are in Good Working Order - there is wear on paper lithos from age & storage. Colors are still mostly pretty bright. All of the pieces look to have the correct markings. If there are any bolts in the item they do have rust.
Hard to Find Early Set from 1963. I know very little about Fisher Price toys but came across this set at an estate sale and couldn't pass it up. It's got a lot of the major pieces but is missing some too. It was played with and definitely has wear. Please see all the pictures and ask questions.
I will package the items well and will send in a box.
