This stereo album of inspirational sacred music was a di-
rect fruitage of the Concert Choir’s 1969 Spring Tour. The
tour took the 64 singers nearly 2,500 miles in eight states to
sing for nearly 6,000 different people in the 10 days.
Since the tour was just before the Easter Season, the se-
lected theme was “The Lord Is Risen”. Each program as well as
this album began with Paul Christiansen’s vibrant arrangement
of Aichinger’s joyful song. Besides appearances in churches in
the evening, there were day appearances in high school assem-
blies enroute and a visit to a chapel service of a sister school
-Cincinnati Bible Seminary.
As a direct result of the high school appearances, the Con-
cert Choir has learned of several young people accepting Christ.
In fact, there were responses at the evening concerts since each
one led directly into an invitation-decision time with the sing-
ing of the hymn, “Just As I Am Without One Plea”. Tears came
to the eyes of the Choir as they saw souls step out to answer the
call of the Lord-11 was more than a “concert”, it was a minis-
try! Pre-concert prayers had been answered!
It is the Concert Choir’s prayer that God might be able to
continue to use these recorded songs to His honor and glory!
