John Paul Jones: a US naval officer that served in the Revolutionary War. (see the web pages that give the details of his family and battles and ships involved). He is called the "Father of the US Navy".

He had several USN ships named in their honor, including the missile destroyer, USS John Paul Jones DDG-53.

SS Oliver Hazard Perry was a 441 foot Liberty Ship built in Los Angeles by California

Shipbuilding and delivered on March 30, 1942. The proud new ship transported
