This week we are offering Joanies “Great Estates” multi-week spring estate auction sales. This group of auctions feature an amazing array of fresh to market hand picked treasures. The sales will span over the next few weeks starting with three days of Asian arts, followed by fine estate jewelry and many other interesting treasures!

This great collection came form a prominent Le Chateau Montreal family collection we have been offering over the past months. The vast majority of items were acquired by the parents 40-60 years ago, with many others being earlier family heirlooms. The family has indicated their parents were good friends of Alex Gurie of the famed Gurie Gallery, Montreal, and that many of the Asian arts examples were acquired from Gurie during the 1960 to 70s. This is surely one of the most impressive estate collections we have dealt with in over 20 years of offering items here on eBay. The chest is intricately handmade with an impressive amount of silver filigree work. We believe the chest would have been made in Chinese or possibly Russia. The chest has gold gilt side handles. The chest is a nice size to use for storing jewelry or possibly for potpourri scented flowers. The estate has had the chest for many decades so we believe it is of antique age. The chest appears unmarked but does test to be .800 solid silver. This fine chest is being offered Without Reserve!

Condition: Fine estate-fresh condition considering antique age with no damage or repairs are seen in the images.

Size: The chest measures 3 1/4 inches long x 2 1/2 inches wide x 2 5/8 inches tall, and weighs 78 grams.
