For Sale I have a rare silver brooch which has been made out of an 1898 Victorian Half Crown Silver Coin and a 1910 Edward VII Thrupenny (or Thruppence) Bit. The coins are made from 0.925 silver. I discovered this item when clearing some of my parents possessions. My father was in the habit of collecting unusual or quirky items from antique shops, sales and auctions and I presume that this was something he picked up. The Victorian Half Crown has had a pin attached to it so that it can be used to wear as a brooch (presumably this could just as easily be taken off). This appears to be individually handmade rather than one of a number. The brooch is in excellent condition and the details of both sides of the two coins are very clear. I am not a numismatist so would not know how to grade the coins, so I have included plenty of photos. Please contact me if you have any questions or queries.
