Add some color and show stoppers to your garden at the end of summer with this ready to plant bulb of Hillbilly Moon Homestead's beautiful lily, Lycoris Squamigera. Also known as Surprise/Resurrection/Magic, and most commonly Naked Ladies.  These bulbs are very well established, and perfect for outdoor planting. They are very hardy and can thrive in nearly any soil type, making them very easy to cultivate. They have both male and female parts and are clumpers which means new bulbs grow off existing ones and separate themselves. And since these are well established, they clump yearly.  They are deer resistant and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. These are from our homestead in West Virginia and have been here several generations. There is a wonderful story behind the names of this lily. The leaves of the lily will start to pop out of the ground in early spring about a foot or so in length and an inch or so wide. This beautiful green foliage will die off in a few weeks but leave them because they are needed as food and nutrients for the lily to grow. (Resurrection) Then like clock work at the end of July through early August, depending on your area weather, (Magic) they pop out of the ground over night.(Surprise).  So watch out and don't accidentally cut them down. Growing out  it's long thick stalk ( 1 1/2- 2 ft tall) and  bouquet of gorgeous flowers at the top with zero leaves.(Naked Ladies) No need to use stakes because the stalk is very thick and they stand straight up on their own.  As seen in the pictures, these bulbs are big and hardy and will be dug to order.

These stalks can be cut and put into a small tube vase and it would look as if you had a bouquet with just 1. We were delighted to have these growing on our homestead and hope that you and your family will enjoy these for generations just as mine has. Or you can give them to friends or family because they are clumpers and you will get more and more flowers. It's good to dig them up every few years due to over-crowding. You will still get flowers but they will be close together and after a few years they may not have as much room to bloom their full slender. So you can put them in different areas of your choice. They are the late bloomers and for the people who like to have flowers growing at all times throughout spring and summer. These are a perfect end of season flower to bring color to your beds. Very easy to grow in most any soil and will come back every year.
