Czech Neiger Brothers Stunning Green & White Glass Pressed Bicone Beaded Antique Necklace 1920s
This gorgeous beaded antique necklace made by the renowned Max & Norbert Niger Brothers, is a beautiful representation of the Egypt Revival theme popular in the early 20th century.
The Egyptian revival theme predominantly came about through the discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb, although there had been earlier revivals, this particular period created a large revival in the 1920s, which in turn had a huge impact on the Art Deco movement.
Therefore as a result the Egyptian revival decorative arts became a style in Western art, predominantly in the early nineteenth century, in which Egyptian hieroglyphic designs were applied to a wide variety of beads, necklaces, bracelets etc, etc...
This lovely antique 1920s Neiger Brothers beaded necklace has the style of the Egyptian Revival theme of the art deco era.
This necklace features green pressed round glass beads, which can be found to the front of the necklace
The fabulous small green bicone & round glass beads have inlaid gold highlights & a lovely hieroglyphic design.
The bicone green beads descend in size, as they make their way to the back of the necklace
Throughout the white bicone beads remain the same size and are constant throughout the necklace
The necklace is complimented further by the addition of three 3 tiny round white beads, with green stripes that finish off the necklace nicely, along with the slimline hook fastener
