A very nice early working silver hunter gents pocket watch which will date by the Birmingham Hallmarks to 1821.    There are dates with initials on the front and rear covers to a later time when it was possibly presented to or handed down in a family member.

The clean fusee chain driven movement with Verge type escapement is running well for the full length of the chain   "BUT"   the timekeeping is very fast (circa 2hrs / 24hrs).     It has been cleaned and oiled but the watchmaker thinks the hairspring has been replaced at some time in the past as he says that it looks too modern.      Because of this it is listed in an open auction as being for "REPAIR" or accept it "AS IS" as a good working watch.

The good condition large solid silver case has been cleaned and polished and the outer measures measures 58mm diameter approx.    It has good hinges and all the covers close well.       The covers open easily by an unusual split button for front and rear covers.

It has a nice white ceramic dial with bold black Roman numerals..    Original gold hands and crystal glass all add the quality and originallity of the watch.

Please note :-      I try to sell only good watches with clear pictures and descriptions.  Please check my feedback and buy with confidence as I will refund in full if found to be "not as described"

A very nice antique pocket watch which would be ideal for the Collector or for Occasional Use.
