For your consideration is this extremely Rare and Unique 13 ounce .999 Silver Round Commemorating the World Trade Center and the Pentagon from September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. 

This item is signed by the sculptor "Rufo" (Picture # 16) (Caesar Rufo of the Highland Mint) and numbered "0096".

I have no information on the mint numbers of this piece, but have never heard of or seen another one.

This Silver round is about 3" across and 1/4" thick and weighs in at 13.1 ounces, without the plastic capsule.

The round is shiny gold plated, but I have no information on the actual plating, composition or process.

One side has the World Trade Center while the other depicts the Pentagon.

The edge is reeded, except where it is stamped ".999 Fine Silver 0096"

There is some discoloration in the reeding which can be seen in pictures 11 and 12.

There is also a mint error (reeding dent) on the edge above the word "fine" and also causing a bulge on the lower edge of the World Trade Center face of the round. (see pictures 7, 8, 9, 13 and 14)

** Picture 21 seems to show extensive discoloration of the surface of the round, but this is not the case, it is the result of a photographic anomaly which can be blamed on the photographer.

This offering comes with a wooden display stand and is housed in a clear plastic (removable) capsule.

Some pictures include a can of Campbell's Soup to help illustrate the side of the round, the soup is not actually included in the offering as I am warming it on the stove as I write this.
