Antique Japanese Wooden Storage Box

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc. 

This antique lidded rectangular box is likely made for two small vases, a set of plates, or other pair of vessels, but is perfect for general storage or use for display or other crafts/projects. It is divided into two equally-sized compartments.

• Good condition considering age. Chips and scratches. Heavy wear, stains, and discoloration. Nail are are protruding on lid. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
