Date: Circa: OLD KINGDOM, 4TH-6TH DYNASTY, CIRCA 2613-2181 B.C.

Physical Properties: height: 3.9 in. (9.96 cm): base diameter: 22 cm: upper rim diameter: 3.6 cm: weight: 104.69 grams:

With short cylindrical neck and thick, flat disc rim, the rounded shoulders tapering to a flat base: The inside having been drilled out to form the container:

Condition: Very Fine:

The jar appears complete with very little external wear as pictured in my macro-photography: The internal and external surface detail ancient calcite formations developed over millenniums: A dark stain appears vertically to one area of the jar and it is suggested that this may have formed when the jar was laid upon a sand substrate over a very great number of years:

Provenance:

Thought to have been part of a larger old, early 20th Century private Swiss collection and possible that of ‘Alton Edward Mill’s (1882-1970)witters opinion and not unconfirmed:

All antiquities are available with a hand-prepared Ancientspasts detailed ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ which, guarantees authenticity for life: This ensures that your item will maintain its provenance and, that your investment will only increase in value moving forward in time:
