Beautiful brooch by David Scott Walker.

A central oval contains yellow dried flowers contrasted against a deep copper ground. The copper has a slightly metallic quality which is difficult to capture in photos.

This is framed with a cast silver frame that has an ornate, traditional design with lovely flourishes and curls. I’m told by a jeweller that casting in fine silver is very difficult and explains the texture to the reverse.

The piece measures just over 4cm across and fastens with a safety clasp.

It is hallmarked on the back with a DSW makers mark. Sheffield silver marks and date marked x for 1997. I’ve attempted to photograph with a lens over the top!

A lovely thing.
