You are looking at an absolutely beautiful Specialized frameset in a 49cm.

Though it was targeted as a “ladies” bike when specialized had their ruby/roubaix range the bike is essentially the same. For the ladies branding the ruby was the title it held, roubaix for the gents market.

This is the top of the range version which held the McLaren branding, the gents version were given the denomination S Works.

It was bought for £1700 US dollars by me a few years ago and it was imported from a company that buys ex team bikes and stock called the pros closet. It is more than likely an ex Boels Dolman team frame. The geometry is that of the roubaix 49cm and measures up as so, I’ve had a few questions about the bike and being an ex team bike even though it is branded as a ruby it is 99% more than likely that the team rider it suited preferred the roubaix geometry better so they had a roubaix branded up as a ruby. The serial number checks out legit, but as a non retail bike indicating its team origins. I’ve had several ex team bikes and this is often seen. The only ruby branding is the chain stay protector that has the words ruby on it. The rest of the paint job is free of any other lettering other than specialized, the s logo and McLaren.

Original listing that I bought,

The bike is in virtually immaculate condition, yes the odd mark on the pain from stone chips or putting wheels in/out etc. The paint is still shiny and in near perfect condition.  Paint color is pearl white specialized logos on gloss black which has a multicolor holographic metallic to it, it’s pretty much the same color as my car which is skoda black magic. The only mark of note is a chip on the base of the head tube where the clear coat met a stone on a ride and its crazed the outer layer a little.

The bike features the head shock suspension system and comes with both the standard and tall top cap as well as the adapters to use mechanical rather than electric gears on the bottom bracket.

I have used this bike as a training bike along with a couple of others but it’s barely had much use the last few years as I stopped racing about 5 years ago.

Brand new headset bearings fitted for the sale.
