Unique Pair of antique lamps that one is most likely not to come across again. Wow - is what would describe it in a truthful manner. It is special to own such a lamp as this due to its age, character, beauty and craftsmanship. Acquired from a wealthy manor house in Scotland. This pair of lamps is well suited as a decorative / statement piece. Could also be used in banquets, hotels and country homes.

The current pictures do not do justice as we have been having persistently gloomy weather. Even with the not so clear pictures, the glory of these lamps cannot be discounted. I suspect these were manufactured as fire dogs and then converted to lamps. Concerning the metal i think it is brass body with iron feet (at the rear). But it might be an alloy or bronze too..

Comes complete with a pair of Iridescent glass lampshades (galleries needed). But, they also go well with vintage/modern fabric lampshades. If you want the lamps without the glass lampshades please let me know and the price will be reduced accordingly.

Believed to be of either Empire or Neoclassical style.Might be some other theme or inspiration - but i don't know.

Would be a lovely addition to an antique interior decor in country/manor house, hotels and period properties.

Please read the description and look closely at the pictures. No returns or cancellation please.

Condition of the Lamp - Very good condition given the age. But, the lamps have taken battering, knocks and the elements of nature. Hence, it has several dents, knocks and scratches. Also, one lamp has a slightly different colour of brass. This is possible due to one being more exposed to sun or may be something happened during its lifetime? Since it was hand made by a black smith it has the natural coarse look. Don't know as it never bothered me. Really heavy with each lamp weighing 4 kg. 71 cm high, 29 cm width and 27 cm deep. Measures 84 cm high with the lampshades.

Condition of the Lampshades - In good clean condition. Cannot see any damage. However, being a used item it might have the wear of age.
