About This Items

  1. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Japanese translation

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is a mini-series of the American comic book Batman published by DC Comics. Writer Frank Miller and inker Klaus Janson published four volumes from February to June 1986; a sequel, Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again, was published in 2001, and Batman: The Dark Knight Master Race in 2015.

After retiring as Batman a decade ago, Bruce Wayne resumed his crime-fighting activities. However, his activities are opposed by the Gotham City Police Department and the government. The story introduces Carrie Kelly as the new Robin and culminates in a showdown with Superman.

This volume was published in Japan in 1998 by Shogakukan Productions in a Japanese translation by Kiichiro Yanashita.
It was published again in 2009 with a different translator, but this is the first translation of "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" in Japan.
