Published in London in 1796, this is volumes 6 & 7 of
this work giving accounts of early voyages of travel and exploration.
These two volumes contain accounts of
The Three Voyages of Captain Cook around the World,
exploring the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and observing the transit of
Venus over the Sun’s disc
Books are a small format leather bound volumes, just under 6
inches tall, 319 pages and 340 pages, illustrated with frontispieces and three
further engraved plates, and a folding map.
CONDITION
Bindings are rubbed at edges with some cracking to leather
along spine edges, though boards still firmly attached, internally noticeable
foxing to the plates, a few other foxing marks within, the map has a short tear
with no loss, a short section of creased page corner tips in the first volume,
else in good general condition.
