There isn't much information on this violin, other than it is handmade - probably in Michigan. I don't see any notation inside. It is 23-1/2" long and 8"wide, and it weighs 1lb, 1.4oz. The tail piece has what was once pretty nice inlay, but some pieces are missing. There is also some kind of plug on the side. It looks like a poor repair idea, and the finish for it was poorly done. A bit of wood is missing on the outer side along the grain as seen in a photo. Some of the wear and scratches make evident the staining used in finishing - not done professionally. Overall, it is charming and kind of special. I would love to attempt repairing this (except I'm not sure of that plug, and I don't have the time). I did show this to a couple experts, and from them I learned; 1.) Kind of worthless ($100). 2.) Glasser Bow. 3.) The neck appears to have been broken and repaired or replaced.
