India-Rubber Comb Company (Goodyear) Inkwell

Embossed lid with company name. 
 
This has a lower beveled bottom for mounting on a lower section, most likely writing related (sand, stamps, etc., there is no bottom section. No way to keep the inkwell affixed other than to set on top, and likely only the upper inkwell was used for traveling purposes.
