.....rare fred skaggs......

This is a wonderful sterling silver ring by Modernist Arizona silversmith, H. Fred Skaggs. Totally hand made and featuring a carved jade stone set high up on a silver wirework setting. Beautiful workmanship, beautiful style!

Well respected author Christie Romero, in her 3rd Edition of Warman's Jewelry, highlights Skaggs as a Mid Century Modern master. Skaggs moved to Scottsdale Arizona in 1956 where he opened a shop at the Lloyd Kiva Craft Center. Charles Loloma, famed Native American silversmith, gives Skaggs credit for inspiring him and teaching him to make jewelry. Romero goes on to say that "Skaggs' work is known to a few discriminating collectors...."

Condition:  Good vintage - I have lightly buffed, but you may wish to polish more
