I will mail this folded (as it has been folded for the past 69 years) in a protective sleeve within a rigid envelope. Text of the letter follows:

July 28, 1955

Mrs. William G. Biederman

6239 33rd Street, N. W.

Washington 15, D. C.

Dear Cousin:

It is always good to hear from one's kinfolks and to know that they are standing squarely behind you. I want you to know that I am most grateful to you for your interest in my campaign for Governor of Kentucky and that I appreciate your support.

I do hope that I will have the opportunity to see you and the rest of your family in the very near future. If I am elected Governor, I hope to have a Combs get-together in Frankfort!

Thanks again for your good wishes, and for your confidence in me.

Sincerely yours,

Bert
