Kashmir has a long tradition of skilled crafts with their own unique style and grace.  This is a gorgeous crewel work silk jacket made by Kashmiri artisans in Srinagar, India.

It is lovely burgundy red color with lovely flowers embroidered on front and back in shades of coral, tea rose, lilac, cornflower blue, pink and mustardy yellow.  It is lined with matching burgundy fabric.

It is 18 1/2 inches from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. The sleeves are 22 1/4 inches long.  From the shoulder seam to the bottom of the jacket is 29 inches. It is 22 inches across the chest in front.

The silk used to create this jacket was made with ahimsa silk.  No worms were killed in its production.  In Tibetan Buddhism, it is believed that any living creature could have been your mother in the last lifetime, so one treats all beings with respect.

This is a gorgeous, elegant jacket and it looks great on, too!  Wear it to dress up any outfit.
