For your iPod: High-powered FM Transmitter, battery charger, AND a convenient cradle, in your car.
Meet RoadTrip, the only car accessory your iPod will ever need.
RoadTrip's FM transmitter can broadcast your iPod on any FM frequency from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz. Its backlit screen makes it easy to check which frequency RoadTrip is broadcasting on -- and the buttons located directly in front make it easy to set or change frequencies. It's easy to reach, because of RoadTrip's adjustable positioning arm. And while you're listening, RoadTrip is charging your iPod.
RoadTrip is designed fo use in the car; but what makes it truly unique is its removable FM transmitter module. When you arrive at your destination, unplug the compact transmitter and take it with your iPod. It works just as well away from the car, to send your music to your boombox radio or home entertainment system. But it's not just for iPod; you can also use it to broadcast music from a Mac or PC. The package includes a combination USB power and audio connector cable that can plug into any USB-equipped computer. Play your iTunes, movie soundtrack, or presentation audio from your computer to any FM stereo close by.
No. The new iPods will only charge via USB, and this product only provides a FireWire charge. It shouldn't damage your iPod, but it will not charge.
Will this product work with the iPhone 3G?Unfortunately, this product is not compatible with the iPhone 3G. You will probably hear a lot of interference, and there is not an adapter that will hold your iPhone securely.
Is the RoadTrip compatible with the iPhone? The RoadTrip will charge your iPhone and it will transmit the audio. However, there is not a clip that will securely hold the phone onto the RoadTrip. Also, the iPhone will display a "nag screen" that indicates this product was not made to work with iPhone. Although the music will come through your car stereo, you may experience interference when placing or receiving a call.
Why can't I hear any audio with my Nano?Chances are this is the first time you have used an audio device that connects to your dock port with your iPod nano. If you hear the static on your radio go away when you turn the RoadTrip on, and your iPod nano is getting power from the RoadTrip, then all you need to do is a simple "soft reset" of your iPod.
With the iPod plugged into the RoadTrip, hold down the Menu and Select buttons until an apple appears in the screen. Then you can let go and wait for the iPod to restart. After it restarts, try playing a song and see if the RoadTrip works.
Why can't I change the volume using my iPod?The RoadTrip has to use the "line-out" port on the bottom of the iPod, and that volume can't be changed by the iPod. However, if the volume seems abnormally low, it could mean a communication problem between the iPod and the RoadTrip.
You can fix that by performing a "soft reset." With the iPod plugged into the RoadTrip and both devices turned on, hold down the Menu and Select buttons on the iPod until an apple appears in the screen. Then you can let go and wait for the iPod to restart. After it restarts, try playing a song and see if the volume improves.
