The frames are made out of high-grade Alder strips 1.5" deep and 3/4" wide. Alder has a fine close-grained structure and is fast growing renewable resource of lumber. The front edge is 1/4" wide. See technical drawing below for the exact dimensions of the frame's profile.

The sizes refer to the dimensions of the canvas to be framed, not the frame itself. For example to frame a 16x20" 3/4" deep canvas, you'll need a 16x20" 1.5" deep frame.
