Signed by the artist with dedication to Stern Family.

Undated - must be 1940-1945 according the dark

colors he used in this period, before his well known

light wall paintings.

Rare painting of Admired Israeli Painter in his early

career in Haifa, Israel.

Sizes: 28.5 X 24.5 cm. with frame: 46 X 41 cm.

Condition: The board slight rubbed with colors

scrapings, otherwise fine.

Grossbard Yehoshua, Poland, 1902-1992 

Grossbard, Painter, Paper Cuts artist.

born in 1902 in Poland. 

Immigrated 1939. Studies: 1926-28 in Vilna, painting;

1955 in Paris.

Prizes: 1958 Malach Prize, Ein Hod;

1965 Herman Struck Prize. 

A founder of Ein Hod Artists' Village. In the sixties

produced paper-cuts on festival and literary subject.

Died 1992.
