This is a Vintage Jackson Yazzie Navajo Etched Pot with the original paperwork from Fred Harvey Trading Co.

This beautiful pot is very finely etched with Navajo dancers and other traditional designs, then glazed with a variety of colors in great detail resulting in the designs being in relief.

I assume this Native American piece was purchased at one of the iconic Fred Harvey Trading Posts or Hotel properties that operated in the Southwest from the late 19th Century to about 1965.  An interesting biographical information on Fred Harvey, credit with starting the first restaurant chain in the US is readily available online.

This is an estate purchase and we do not know specifically when it was made, but I assume from the Fred Harvey aspect of the provenance that it was made sometime prior to 1965.

The original bi-fold paper tag, found inside the pot, has "Fred Harvey Trading Co Est. 1876" on the front, and "#75" and "NAVAJO POTTERY JACKSON YAZZIE".

At the time of the original listing, we had a number of listings for vintage Native American and Southwest pottery, sterling jewelry, and other items in our ebay store.

Condition:

As found, there are two small scrapes in the glaze as seen in a closeup photo marked with purple arrows.  One is about 1/16" and the other is 1/8".  Please note that this photo is several times actual size, and these areas are quite small.  The pot is otherwise in excellent condition.  I noticed a number of areas on the photo where the flash left highlights, particularly on red paint that could be misconstrued as scrapes or scrathes.

The pot is offered as found / as seen / as described, but we will guarantee your satisfaction with accuracy of our description of the condition and its depiction in the photos.
