This is an inexpensive and attractive looking aerial in black with a circular base suitable as a replacement for the aerial antenna fitted to early models of the Volvo 160,  200, 700 and 900 series estates,  and station wagons that have an aerial antenna mounted at the top of the rear pillar. Suitable for most Volvo 160, 164, 240, 242, 244, 245, 262, 264, 265, 740, 760, 850, 940, 960 and other Estate, Kombi & Station Wagon models. Normally found to be a good alternative to the comparatively expensive OE part number Volvo 944929

It can be fitted in place of the original electric aerial/power antenna, or in place of manually retractable and non retractable after-market aerials often fitted to these models. On many models access to the mounting bolt is gained through an existing access hole on the inside of the rear pillar, but on some models it may be necessary to drill a small (15 or 20 mm) access hole through the inner panel, to allow an 8 mm socket to be inserted in line with the external mounting hole to enable the securing nut to be screwed onto the bases M5 thread. Blanking grommets are supplied to re-seal the hole. 

 The aerial is supplied with a 1.2 metre long coax cable extension so can be plugged into the existing DIN 41585 socket normally found in close proximity of the existing aerial, but if you do need to relay the coax cable we can supply aerial extension leads of appropriate length.
