Amsterdam: R W P De Vries, 1905.  Hardcover in quarter cloth with paper covered boards.  With a binder's ticket from Fa F G Koster in Amsterdam.  The book measures 10.5 by 14 inches and is composed of 84pp.  Plates of tissue covered monochrome photographs are not numbered.    Chemical formula bookplate of V M Oppers, possibly Victor Marie Oppers.  Text entirely in French.

I believe this was a limited edition reprint of the auction catalogue of the previous year together with biographical sketches of various Japanese artists in Barboutau's colleciton.  More than 900 individual items listed with biographies of dozens of artists.  Outstanding reference work.

In Good condition.   Covers with a mild bit of wear, boards peeking through at the corners.  Small tear in the backstrip near the top of the spine, not affecting the joint.  Binding is solid, contents are clean and free of damage.  Complete.

Quite scarce.
