This goes from the body of your car at the rear to the transmission and the cable rides insides it. Usually these have never been changed, they should be replaced every time the clutch cable is because the cable moves back and forth in it in a saw like motion. The Bowden tube is a critical part of your clutch in that it tensions the cable (the curve serves this purpose) so you do not have clutch chatter.
