This is a new replacement "short" rear roof aerial antenna mast for the Audi A4, A6, RS4, RS6 Avant and  Estate models including Allroad and Quattro versions fitted with Audi's GPS Sat Nav system. This is a good quality replacement mast as supplied by a European Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). This mast has a length of 170mm (6.75 inches) with a 6mm diameter male thread 6.5mm in length. It has a flared bottom end measuring 17mm diameter with a slight taper to10 mm at its top. 

This mast is for AM/FM radio reception and cellular phone reception/transmission for use with aerial bases which have GPS positioning for Satellite Navigation. (If your model does not have Sat Nav it requires the smaller  5mm threaded version, please see our other listing for this.)

 This shorter mast will update your car as manufacturers tended to fit this design of mast to later models. Ideal if you wish to stylise or personalise your car or avoid the risk of the mast being damaged by overhead obstructions, but still retain good reception. 

This is a quality OE part to VAG specification and should not be confused with many cheaper, poorer quality copies that are widely available, mostly manufactured in the Far East which rely on thread adapters.  If you wish to maintain your cars superior reliability and build quality, fit the parts VAG approve, to their high standards, and not some cheap inferior quality part of dubious origin.
