Vintage 15" Tall Plaster Spanish Woman Doll, Spain
Here up for sale is a 15 inch tall vintage doll of what appears to be a Spanish woman, made of plaster or similar material, judging by the sound it makes when I tap the arms with my fingernail. Country of manufacture is unknown. It is in used condition. The flesh colored painted body shows some light chipping and dirt in spots as shown. Head and torso are one piece. Arms and legs are separate pieces and move somewhat. Her face has hand-painted details. Her hair is in a tight weave that shows a little wear spot right above her forehead.
The yellow dress has white lace trim with what looks like fools-gold pyrite decorations. The lace trim has a number of loose threads dangling here and there. This doll might have been made in the '60s but I'm thinking it's perhaps considerably older...it's hard for me to tell for sure. Will not stand up on it's own, since the hip joints to the legs are quite loose. I'm not sure if that could be repaired easily or not. Really an interesting doll for display.
